Barbados to get Pfizer vaccine on Friday

Barbados on Friday gets a shipment of more than seventy thousand doses of the Pfizer covid-19 vaccine from the United States government.
The United States today announced the shipment of the Pfizer doses to Barbados and five other CARICOM countries saying its part of its commitment to provide “safe and effective vaccines to as many people around the world as fast as possible.”

Washington said the six CARICOM countries to receive the first shipment of the vaccines are Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts-Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

It said that Trinidad and Tobago will receive 305 thousand, 370 dozes, Bahamas, 397 thousand, Antigua and Barbuda 17 thousand, 550, Barbados, 70 thousand, 200, St Kitts and Nevis, 11 thousand, 700 and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 35 thousand,100 Pfizer doses.
President Joe Biden said the US has been working to get as many safe and effective vaccines to as many people around the world as fast as possible.
