More schools and businesses have been affected amidst a spike in covid cases with Barbados recording almost a hundred new positives since Saturday.

Starcom Network News has learnt that the entire Class Four of St. Judes Primary School has been quarantined over possible covid exposure.

Its understood that the ministry of education is being guided by health officials on how such matters should be handled and that the current policy is that potential contacts will no longer be allowed to quarantine at home.

The students are reportedly all negative on the first test and will be tested again in five days.

General Secretary of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Herbert Gittens, confirmed that the union has been officially informed of the situation.
