Duguid defends awarding of Hope contracts

Minister of Housing, Dr. William Duguid, has been defending government’s process for awarding contracts under the National Housing Corporations Hope Premium program.

Dr. Duguid called into VOB’s Brass Tacks call-in program after questions were raised about the process for awarding contracts.

Moderator Dr. Kristina Hinds asked Dr. Duguid why the project was not put out to tender.

Meantime, in a statement the Democratic Labour Party’s spokesman on Housing Ricardo Harrison called for more transparency in the awarding of these contracts.

He wants several questions answered.
