Barbados records COVID death #41

Barbados has recorded its 41st COVID-19 related death.

The deceased is a 70-year-old Barbadian man, who passed away yesterday at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility, where he had been a patient since February 24th.  He also suffered from chronic non-communicable diseases.

Meanwhile, 10 new cases were identified out of the 645 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, further evidence of the downward trend in the positivity rate.

There are now 157 people in isolation after fifteen patients were discharged after recovering.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 3 thousand, 603 confirmed cases recorded in Barbados and the public health laboratory has so far processed 138 thousand, 967 tests.

Forty-five people were vaccinated yesterday under the National Vaccination Programme taking the total inoculations to 62 thousand, 802. (BGIS)
