BPSA appeals to Government to delay minimum wage increase

The Barbados Private Sector Association says while it supports an increase in the national minimum wage, it wants government to delay implementation. It also wants to review the amount of money being proposed.

Chairman of the Association, Edward Clarke, says many businesses can’t afford the hike right now, especially after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Clarke tells Starcom Network News an increase in the minimum wage will have a ripple effect.
