Police crime prevention officer Inspector Stephen Griffith was speaking to Starcom Network News against the background of a series of voice notes being circulated in which people describe alleged incidents where people used various means to try to get motorists to stop. Such as these:

Inspector Griffith was unable to verify the incidents, as no official report was made to the police. He urges the public to do so if they have any such encounters.

Nevertheless, he advises motorists to always be careful.  And in light of a survey by the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit indicating that many crimes are not reported, he re-emphasised the need to contact the police.
