Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Mottley is supporting a call by the Caribbean Reparations Committee for a three-day summit involving Britain and the European Union.

The proposal was placed on the table by Chairman of that body, Sir Hillary Beckles during an online UWI Panel Committee on the topic.

Ms. Mottley told the gathering it was not only about money but justice and the creation of a level playing field for small nations.

She also underscored the need for an apology for the region to move forward.

Ms. Mottley says the issue of debt in the Caribbean is a clear matter that needs to be addressed.

Meantime, Chairman of the Committee, Sir Hillary says the three-day meeting must look at how Britain can honour its debt to the Caribbean.
