IMF says Barbados’ economy on track

The International Monetary Fund has congratulated Barbados on its efforts to stabilize the economy saying the Barbados Economic Recovery and Transformation (BERT) Programme is on track.

This assessment came as Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Tao Zhang met to discuss the country’s economic position with the implementation of BERT.

After the meeting, Ms. Mottley said they were both satisfied that the country was on track stressing that Barbados needs to stay the course.

Mr. Zhang congratulated the Prime Minister and the people of Barbados on the achievements made to stabilize the economy, and move forward with the reforms.
