A week after the Transport Authority announced the cancellation of the permits of two public service vehicle operators and the suspension of a dozen others, the suspensions have been reversed following a meeting with representatives for the mini-bus and route taxi owners.

President of the Association of Public Transport Operators, Kenny Best, who is an Attorney-at-law and former Member of Parliament confirmed to Starcom Network News that the authority withdrew the cancellation letters following submissions made during Tuesday’s meeting.

Mr. Best also believes that a first step should be to hold accountable the persons directly responsible for the infraction as owners may not even be aware of what transpired…though he cautions owners to also keep better track of who is operating their vehicles.
