Mohamed backs move to appoint a QEH executive Chairman

The Deputy Chairman of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital board, Dr. Abdul-Rehman Mohamed, has defended the appointment of an executive Chairman insisting that Juliet Bynoe-Sutherland is highly qualified and a good choice of the job.

There’s been much public discussion and some criticism of the government’s amending of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital board Act to create the post of executive chairman that’s expected to be filled by Mrs. Bynoe-Surtherland who has been serving as chair of the hospital’s board.

Critics have pointed to the fact that she is the wife of a cabinet minister.

But speaking to moderator David Ellis on VOB’s Getting Down to Brasstacks call-in program, Dr. Mohamed said he has full confidence that Mrs. Bynoe-Sutherland will do an excellent job.
