Attorney-at-law Vonda Pile has been jailed for three years for theft of a client’s money in 2009.
However, she was given credit for the three months she has spent on remand and that will be deducted from her sentence.
Imposing the sentence in the Number Five Supreme Court, Madame Justice Pamela Beckles said the offense was so serious only a custodial sentence was appropriate.
Ms.Pile was convicted in June for stealing almost a hundred thousand dollars belonging to Barbadian/New Yorker businessman Anstey King. She was however found not guilty of the additional charge of money laundering.
