NUPW wants better maintenance programme for Government buildings

The National Union of Public Workers, this country’s largest public-sector union, wants to see a better maintenance program for government buildings.

Acting General Secretary of the NUPW, Wayne Waldrond was speaking to Starcom Network News against the background of the Randall Phillips Polyclinic at Oistins remaining closed this week.

A notice in the press says its due to environmental issues and that some of the polyclinics services will be diverted to the David Thompson Health and Social Services Complex at Glebe Land, St. John from next Monday.

A shuttle has been put in place to transport antenatal, postnatal and other patients of the Oistins clinic to St. John.

Mr. Walrond says the situation is a worry.

He says too much work time is being lost.
