The Royal Barbados Police Force is getting much-needed assistance from a local insurance company.

The Insurance Corporation Of Barbados Limited (ICBL) this morning, donated six closed-circuit television cameras to the force, to aid in the fight against crime.

The cameras are valued at 24 thousand dollars and will be installed across various sections of Bridgetown.

Commissioner of Police, Tyrone Griffith, says the cameras will be very helpful, especially at Crop Over and at a time when Barbadians are not coming forward with information to help police solve crimes.

His comments came at the presentation of the cameras and a monetary donation at Police Headquarters, Roebuck Street, St, Michael.

Meantime, Chief Operating Officer of ICBL, Oliver Jordan, says he is pleased to work with local law enforcement and is encouraging other private sector entities to do the same.
