Police have identified the man who was fatally stabbed this morning.
He is 43-year-old Rupert Patrick Stoute, of Inch Marlow, Christ Church.
Stoute was stabbed at Fairchild Street in the city while reportedly being involved in a dispute with a man at Nelson Street where he was stabbed about 1:45 am.
Stoute ran to nearby Fairchild Street pursued by the alleged attacker who reportedly caught up with him at the entrance to the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal.
The victim was again stabbed. Bystanders notified police of an ongoing altercation and when they arrived on the scene they found the wounded man.
An ambulance was summoned and the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) where he was pronounced dead. A suspect is in police custody.
