The Anglican Church launches project to curb violence

The Anglican Church in Barbados is on Sunday launching what it hopes will be a national project to curb violence in the country.

It comes against a background of national concern about the 30 murders recorded for this year so far.

The project is being spearheaded by the church’s Social Justice Commission, chaired by John Goddard, who told a discussion last night that it will look to reach youth in their own communities.

Mr. Goddard adds that the project aims to utilize the Anglican Church’s large number of resource persons and will be extended across the island after a six-month review of the pilot.
