Promoters wants promised one-stop shop for obtaining licences established

As activities for this year’s Crop Over festival get underway, some promoters are urging government to have the proposed hub for licences established as soon as possible.

Earlier this year, government announced that event promoters, band leaders and others who require liquor, noise, and other licences will soon have a one-stop shop where this is concerned.

Director of the annual Awaken Ultra Premium Breakfast Party, slated for Sunday morning at Sandlewood Estate, Tremayne Austin, said this is a vexing issue and is urging government to make this proposed one-stop shop a reality.

He also called for tax concessions for promoters year round.

Meantime, Jason Parris, co-owner of Foreday Morning band, Chocolate Army, now in its tenth year; wants to see the annual Jam revamped.
