Opposition Leader, Bishop Joseph Atherley, expects his new party that is being officially launched today, will be a long-term political force to be reckoned with in this country.

Speaking on VOB’s Down to Brass Tacks, Bishop Atherley noted the decline in popularity of the former main opposition Democratic Labour Party and felt the public of Barbados was ready for an alternative.

He also rejected suggestions that his move to cross the floor was instigated by former Prime Minister Owen Arthur.
