Founder of local environmental advocacy group, Eco Rebel, Dominique Tudor, is calling for stiffer penalties for those found guilty of illegal dumping.

Speaking as those around the world celebrate World Environment Day today, Ms. Tudor tells Starcom Network News, there are other ways to get rid of unwanted materials.

Back in March this year, Minister of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, Kirk Humphrey said legislation is being drafted to allow for separating garbage at source for recycling and would also target those who throw litter through vehicle windows.

She also noted that even though Barbadians are becoming more environmentally conscious, more needs to be done.
