A deep sense of grief pervaded the Danesbury, Black Rock , St. Michael area this morning following the shooting death of popular tattoo artist 24 year old Shaquille Toppin who was gunned down in the district last night.
He was shot multiple times and transported to the QEH by private transportation where he was pronounced dead.
And as police appeal for the help of the public in tracking down the perpetrator, this morning at Danesbury, friends and neighbours of the victim expressed their deep sadness at his killing, describing Shaquille as a peaceful and soft-spoken person, not known to get into any trouble or confrontation.
The Black Rock residents also voiced concern about the gun violence in that area and elsewhere, saying it seems some people are willing to take another’s life for no good reason. They demanded harsher penalties for gun crimes.
