Bankers Association tells public not to sanitise ATMs

Commercial Banks in Barbados are urging customers to sanitise their hands after using automatic teller machines but are warning the public against trying to wipe down the machines.

The Barbados Bankers Association issued a notice over the weekend encouraging customers to use online services and to avoid the crowds in the branches by using the ATMs.

This was supported by President of the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners, Abdon Dasilva, but he also recommended people sanitise the ATM’s before and after use.

However, President of the Bankers Association, Donna Wellington, tells Starcom Network News that’s not a good idea…and she explains why.
