UPDATE: Passengers on Italian cruise ship test negative for COVID-19

Barbadian officials say tests on a number of people on board an Italian cruise ship have come back negative for the coronavirus and the ship has departed Barbadian waters after being resupplied with provisions.
The Costa Magica had been turned away from both Tobago and St. Kitts and Nevis over fear that some of its passengers may have been exposed to the coronavirus (covid19).
Italy, where the ship is based, has reported several cases of the virus and Barbados has in place a requirement that visitors arriving from that country be subject to a fourteen-day quarantine.
The vessel was banned from Tobago and on Wednesday authorities in St Kitts allowed the ship to dock there but passengers were not allowed to disembark. The vessel had arrived in St. Kitts from Antigua.
The cruise ship which can accommodate about 4 thousand passengers and one thousand crew members with most of its passengers coming from France, Italy, Guadeloupe, and Martinique, had not been due to arrive here until next week.
But officials confirmed it had arrived in Barbadian territorial waters, virus tests were conducted, which were negative, the ship was resupplied and it had sailed on.
