First Centenarian Knighted

Avisene Carrington, SCM, has been named Dame of St. Andrew for her pioneering role in early childhood education and her outstanding contribution to primary education in Barbados. Ms. Carrington is the first centenarian to be knighted. She celebrated her 100th birthday last September.

Communications Manager at Barbados Revenue Authority, Carolyn Williams Gayle, has apologized to customers who experienced poor service and a long wait at the Authority’s Pine location on Tuesday. She explained that there was a personnel issue that caused the disruption.

Complaints of Shabby Treatment At Licensing Authority

Barbadians going to the Licensing Authority in the Pine continue to complain about what they call the shabby treatment they receive from that government office.
